Fire House No. 3 is the focal point of a premiere master planned community.  It contains four drive-thru apparatus bays and is situated on an irregular, constrained site.  A broad covered terrace surrounded by prominent arches anchors a brick tower that stands as a monument in the surrounding residential area. Precast cornicework complements the brick station. Standing seam roof, period lighting, and window casings combine to collectively add to a sense of place and safety.  The material finishes reinforce a strong historic aesthetic. The interior of the facility incorporates classic architectural styling, color palette, and firehouse favorites (such as the brass fire pole).  Terrazzo flooring, stainless steel appliances, and wood cabinetry are just a few special touches.  Art work commissioned by area students is also incorporated into the project. As the new prototype for the Department, Fire House No. 3 enhances the quality of life for users as well as the design aesthetic and financial return on investment.  A streamlined floor plan with clear and direct egress minimizes response time to apparatus bays.

Fire House No. 3 is designed for a 50+ year lifespan and is LEED Gold Certified.  It incorporates a 35 kilowatt photo-voltaic system, a 100% diesel power generator, and a thermal hot water system.
