Tucson Fire Station No. 9 is a 19,250-square-foot single-story fire station, also known as the ‘house of pain’ for being the busiest station. This facility replaced a station from 1966 which at the time, had two equipment bays and a staff of six. The total site is approximately 1.4 acres, which includes all three of the city owned parcels. The site is located on the southwest corner of Wilmot Rd and Eastland Street. Project will be completed in four phases and will include demolition of existing fire station, relocation of crew to temporary facility, construction of new fire station, demolition of temporary quarters and completion of staff parking.

This Fire Station consists of a split-bay configuration, with 4 main apparatus bays and 4 secondary response and rescue vehicles, 17 Fire Fighters dormitories, Battalion Quarters, a fitness room, training room, offices, an exam room, work/living space, and support spaces.
